I installed the Eeuroparts Stage 1 ECU with the T7 BPC upgrade on my 97 Aero 5-speed. So easy a caveman could do it. It took more time to cobble up a T7 BPC bracket than it took to swap the ECU, the adapter cable, new plugs and the T7 BPC valve. I took the car out for a short spin to check operation of the system and to warm up the car prior to an oil and filter change. I know cars usually have to be driven a little bit so the ECU can "learn" its settings. I'm not sure max boost has to be "learned". That should be a hard setting in my mind, but I'm not a programmer. I drove it somewhat conservatively for a few miles and then my curiosity got the best of me and I matted it in 3rd. Before the Stage 1 upgrade, the car would boost into the yellow/red striped area, maybe a little farther. I watched as the boost gauge needle ran into the red....and out the back door headed toward the "F" in Full on the gas gauge. :-0 ....I backed out of it. I drove it a little ways further and tried it again. Again it went through the red and I hit the high boost fuel cut out somewhere between red and "F". I hadn't had that happen since I sold the 94 Aero....it was a beast that someone had tinkered with and would hit the fuel cut out if you matted it. Has anyone else had this happen with the EEuro Stage 1 Aero ECU upgrade? I would expect the ECU to control the boost to a lower level, particularly on a Stage 1 level. I don't have a real boost gauge on this car, just the factory one. Regardless, fuel cutout is fuel cutout and I don't think I should be there.
