Significant oil leak on timing side of engine. Posted by AdamB [Email] (#3) [Profile/Gallery] (more from AdamB) on Fri, 30 Oct 2015 09:13:44 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
The last couple of days I noticed the right front brakes not grabbing as well as the left side and thought I'd check it out. To my horror I found the inside of the right wheel and the suspension, axle etc covered in engine oil, including the brakes. I didn't have time to remove the fender liner, so couldn't get eyes on the crank seal but my first thought was that was probably the oil pump o-ring and crank seal.
However there's no oil on the serpentine belt. Wouldn't a significant leak by the pulley typically get on the belt?
PS: Yes, I checked the dipstick and it has lost about 2 quarts in a couple of weeks. Hadn't noticed any dripping until now.
