Same symptoms exactly. One thing I noticed was that it was more a function of the rpm's I took it to in 1st gear prior to shifting, than the amount of power I used. I initially thought it was a function of power, since usually the only time you go to high rpm's is with higher power...
I had only 2000 miles on a tranny from Eriksson Industries when it started grinding, and I'd never slam shifted it once, although I had been going to high rpm frequently. Some of the respondents on this BB also suggested I'd slam shifted it, so I see you're in the same boat.
If it is a synchro problem, which mine was, it should go away by double clutching. The synchro apparently has two parts, one that engages when upshifting, and the other when downshifting. Rebuilders only replace the synchros when they're past their wear limits, but the fact that mine failed only 2k miles after rebuild (and they apparently didn't have records on my tranny as to what exactly was replaced, as they couldn't tell me), it is obvious to me that a synchro can measure up fine but still be near failing.
I would stongly advise against putting another rebuilt in, if you are happy with the shifting performance otherwise. It doesn't seem like you're thinking about this option, from your posts. Eriksson shipped me another rebuilt under warranty, which was great of them, but the new one doesn't shift as well into 3rd or 5th as the old one did. The thing to consider about rebuilt transmissions, as you mentioned in one of your posts, is that they are used. If I had it to do again, I'd ask what the price would be on the rebuilt tranny if they replaced all the synchros, regardless of their wear status.
