These seems to be the most active board, so I thought I would ask everyone here.
I just got an 86 9000T and am having problems with the cruise control and high beams. The headlamps go off when switching to high beam right now, and I think it could be the relay or the contacts in the switch there in the steering column.
The cruise control also doesn't work, however, and I know that all the cruise connections are made in the same switch box there in the column.
I guess my question is more about the cruise than anything, since it doesn't seem to do anything, no matter what buttons I press. Does anyone have any recommendations on what to check first on the cruise?
If you could provide me with the locations of the parts, it would be a great help, since right now, I don't even know where the parts of the cruise system are located under the hood! :-\
I can't get a service manual for this car, since noone seems to have them anymore.
Is there any way to check if the entire switch assy. is causing both the headlamp and cruise problem? I will check the relay today on the headlamps, but I'm still at a loss on the cruise. Any suggestions would be great. Thanks for taking the time to read this. :-)
