Ever since I replaced the O2 sensor, the check engine light has been coming on intermittently. First off, shouldn't this light just come on and stay on until the problem is solved? The faults that I'm finding are these: O2 adaption fault at idle and open throttle and fuel lean. What could be causing this? The O2 sensor was replaced with a Mustag 5.0L sensors but it's supposed to be the same thing. It is grounded properly and the heater is giving the correct resistance. I just put in a new catalytic converter, but I'm affraid that the problem with the sensor could cause damage to the converter. I've checked everything it seems. The car *seems* to run great, except recently, I've noticed a stronger smell of gas outside the car, and the MPG seem to have gone down somewhat. What else can I check? Could it be the computer, and how much would one of those cost me? Thanks for ANY input.
