Hmmm... I thought it was every 30,000 miles. It went to every 60k with the early LH cars (heated O2 sensor), and with LH 2.4, it was "when the ECU tells you to...".
The car should have an "EXH" light in the instrument cluster, or on the dash someplace. It is switched on by a counter that is run (mechanically) off of the speedo. The counter is mounted behind the knee panel, to the left (on an LHD car, anyway) at the driver's position. There's a button on it that is pressed to reset the light for another 30k miles. I think the 99s had a small cover that had to be removed first.
