I've left the radiator in many times...the hood coming off actually saves time. Working around that thing is a real pain. Take off the grill, undo the three bolts that hold the radiator in...unplug the fan and thermoswitch. lift the radiator out and lay it on top of the engine. The hose from the reservoir being longer, you should be able to move that side the furthest to the passenger side of the engine...in other words, the radiato will be diagonal, left front to drivers seat. It's a good idea to take the shroud for the clutch out before this, mind you. Sometimes I've had really stiff hoses on the reservoir side and opted to free up the reservoir itself...two screws is all.
Good luck.
