The FD won't cause the injectors to leak. The injector is bad if it's leaking. Knowing the car sat for 20yrs, you have to worst possible case of reviving a fuel injection system. Old fuel, degrading fuel hoses and CIS is very bad. If you tried to start the car in this condition, expect to replace pretty much the whole system, or have ongoing problems that will drive you crazy. You might be able to reuse the fuel pump and accumulator. Possibly be able to clean the screens in the WUR. Make sure all vacuum lines and fuel injector orings are new.
When you get home, I suggest checking the fuel filter first to see if you still have crap coming from the tank. That will kill your new FD, and everything else down the line. The tank should really be professionally cleaned/restored. If there is ANY rust in it, don't even think of using it before doing this.
If you aren't well versed in CIS now, you will be by the time you get that car running! There is plenty of CIS knowledge left in the world, but you need to follow the proper steps in the proper order or you'll become very frustrated.
Does your car have a frequency valve, aux air valve or decel valve? I don't know all of the SAAB variants, but I know they varied quite a bit around that year, catalyst vs non-catalyst etc.
