I did that for almost a year...the car had no problems. The transmission I had, though, was not really my choice for continual freeway driving. It was geared fairly low and put me at about 4000RPM at 75-80mph (the casual speed of traffic here in Utah). My first 99 was a 76 wagon back that would cruise at much lower RPMs. It had a tranny with a cast "bill" front mount whereas the EMS had an earlier tranny. Which was original? I don't know. Either way, that EMS now has a 16VT with 5sp. Sometimes I miss the ol' b-motor and the tight gearing that came with its mated tranny. I wouldn't worry, just make sure the cooling system is working well and make sure you're religious about oil changes. THe higher the revs, the more that stuff gets worked.
