That's the funniest thing I've ever heard... good idea though! Reminds me of the time I bought an '88 9kt for parts to fix an '88 9kt I bought, and ended fixing them both... heh... The things people do for their Saabs, eh?
I dug through my emails with Jack - the company that built the adapter is Kennedy Engineered Products, somewhere in Southern California (San Diego?). They haven't been made for years, and there was a very small production run, but maybe their still have the CNC files (or whatever they used to make it) and could produce another run. Depending on price, I might buy another "just in case." IIRC, new they were around $150 or so.
And being this is the WWW, below is the link to their homepage - seems they make a rotary to T5 adapter, in case you want make a 5-speed RWD rotary powered Sonett. Or a rotary powered Mustang. Or an RX-7 with a (T-56) 6-speed. Okay, I'll shut up now.
let me know what you find out!
