That's exactly what I was talking about. Most people don't know what they look like. If you see a picture of one on a vintage car that has been painted to match the color of the car, odds are it won't work well. I found out the hard way the were painted silver for a reason. It's not exactly practical for a dailey driver, but for a weekend ride, it's at least a humorous solution. Flecha's comments on the AC subject couldn't be stated better...even when installed the original York system doesn't work well. for that reason, as well as going through a york restoration myself on my other 99, my recent '74 EMS project will have the car cooler installed this summer on hot days. Besides, it matches the silver EMS. If you really must have the AC, get an aftermarket kit and adapt it. The original AC kits are a pain in the neck to install anyways, so it will be the same amount of work in the end.
