I don't know if it can be done....you would end up with the opposite of the saab 90!!!
A thought to consider - Some people recommend cuting the fire wall out from a saab 90 and grafting this into a 99 to make room for a H engine. Maybe you can do something similar using the firewall from the 900.
Another point to consider is that if you are doing this in Australia you will need engineers approval and certificates before and after the modifications to be able to register the car as being road worthy.
Don't buy a 900.....but only because it is not a 99!!!!!!
