you'd be better off taking your abilities and reworking the cooling system and firewall so that the engine will fit AND you have room to work on it. I too would like to get a 99 and drop a 16v in it. doing a clip tho for that is hardly worth it. you just end up with a 900. if it were a 99gli 5 door then maybe. however doing that with a unibody car is probably not so safe. if it were a ladder frame it would be easy. there is no reason why you can't do it but i think a 16v turbo is by far a better project than a clip job. you probably could never sell it either...
