I am not sure how many of you took the trip to Dean Hill Motors to have your car serviced but unfortunately Dean Hill is no longer open. I have had history with this business for all of my life. My mother worked at the dealership for over 30 years and up until this past Monday my husband was employed there. Prior to 2003 it was operated by one of the original owners. I can remember being at the original location in Charlestown NH and seeing cars there with plates from MA, CT, NY, ME, and VT. People would drive a great distance to have their car serviced there. They had loyal and wonderful costumers. The employees were one big family.
Thanks to the new owner the doors were locked Tuesday. Only took 3 years to run the business into the ground. 22 individuals lost their jobs this week. A few had been there for over 30 years. Most did not know until that day that the dealership was closing. It had been a big rumor the week prior. They were told Tuesday that anything that belonged to them needed to be picked up and removed from the building so the bank would not confiscate it. What really upsets me the most is that the owner did not even take the time to speak to his employees. Could not shake their hands and say “I am sorry”. He basically avoided them by breezing in and out of the dealership with out saying a word to them. They deserved better then that. Dean Hill deserved better then that.
