I understand that Northern Motorsport in Wilder is very good with SAABS. Jim Clark across from Maplefield's convenience store/gas station on RT. 4 is also good with SAABs, but he works alone and is always quite busy. Tony's Used cars on RT. 5 in North Hartland specializes in SAAB repair too. (I think they're called Riverside auto reapiar), and the AUTO BARN on RT. 12 in Hartland also specializes in SAAB repair, and comes highly recommended from someone who has used them for years. ..............Regarding Dean Hill SAAB, I have purchased two used 9-5's....one a wagon and one a sedan. We went back for the second one a year after buying the first because we felt we were treated fairly and with respect.......unfortunatley, the second purchase just a couple of months before they went under, ruined the whole DEAN HILL expereince for us. I can document the following as true...... We went looking for our second used SAAB, and found a black 9-5 sedan with about 61,000 miles on it for a window sticker price of $19,995.00. They instantly gave us a discount because of our "relationship" with them. We came to an agreement that included them giving us a little more for our trade than it was worth, and the monthly payment was reasonable....(actually they came down once more from the original deal...to make the deal). We signed a purchase and sale agreement and basically bought the car for $18,800.00.
We left our trade (it was a Saturday) and they prepped the car for deleivery the following Monday. On Sunday, we opened up the Vermont Standard newspaper, and saw a DEAN HILL SAAB ad featuring the car we just "purchased". The ad stated that the car was on sale for $14,800, reduced from the original price of $17,995, (yes, same stock number, same mileage, same color). To make a long story short, we expressed our displeasure at being "taken" and they did honor the ad's price. Their excuse was that we would have gotten the "sale" price if we had asked for it. The ad did not say that you had to ask for the price, and it did not serve as a "coupon", it was simply stating the price of the vehicle. Isn't there some kind of law that states that if you advertise the price of a product (can of soup, tube of toothpaste, automobile), that THAT price has to be on the product at the store? Needless to say, that was going to be the last vehicle we would ever purchase from them. There are other SAAB dealerships within a 90 minute drive.....
