I drive a 1998 900SET in similar situations to yours (60% city, 40% freeway in Seattle). I have chosen to use Mobil 1 5W-30 or 10W-30 and either an AC-Delco or Mobil 1 oil filter. I have the oil and filter changed every 5, 000 miles by either by the dealer or a nearby Quaker Oil lube place where they will let me watch to be sure it is done right.
So the short answer is Mobil 1 10W-30, change the oil and filter every 5,000 miles. Some people on the SAABnet have found that they can go 10,000 miles between changes. They have an oil analysis done at 5,000 miles to verify that everything is still OK. My thought is an oil change twice a year is not an economic hardship so just do it.
