Stereo upgrade info

Thanks to Richard Bevan's website and LDH, I was able to upgrade my stereo with an external amp and new speakers.
However, due to cables that are not shielded good enough, I have some noise in the system. I plan on redoing my RCA cables after xmas and posting my results and pics (will have dig. camera then). In researching, I found the website below (Stinger Peripherals) and have ordered some parts that may help others prevent a couple of problems in the future. You will have to order from a local stereo dealer however, as they don't sell directly to customers.
One problem is the 8 pin DIN plug. Its not easy to solder directly to the pins on a plug from Radio Shack. They have part number P-P8DMCUT, $12.00, which is an 8 pin plug with an 18" lead, so you can solder wire to wire.
The other is the remote turn on lead from that pin. It is a low voltage trigger, and not enough to turn on aftermarket amps. I currently have my amp wired to be on with ignition, but this precludes using the radio without key in ignition, as the factory provides. I ordered part LVT, low voltage trigger $14.00, which will convert that signal (or even a speaker level signal) to 12 volt.
My new plan is to rebuild the cable with the above parts and Stinger Hyper Series directional twisted pair 4 channel cables ($30.00). Should eliminate the noise and solve the turn on problem.
I will report back later.
