It's interesting that no matter where yoy live in the US, you tend to see nicer cars in the nicer parts of town. ANd along with that, you tend to see more SAABs in the nicer areas. SAAB doesn't really appeal to Joe Six Pack. However, this idea takes on a different angle in Dallas. In the "new money" susburbs, SAABs are nowhere to be found. THis surprises me since the neighborhoods there are filled with transplants from other parts of the country where SAABs are more popular. It seems that once they "immigrants" arrive from the East and West coasts, they immediately conform to BMW, Lexus, etc. However, in the old money section of town (Highland Park, etc.) you see many more European autos and that includes SAABs. Part of this is the university crowd (SMU) which always presents more SAABS. But part of it too is a certain European class that you find among old money. I'm always amazed that I can drive my SAAB through very expensive neghborhoods in Plano and see no SAABs anywhere but as I approach Highland Park, I'll see SAABS every few intersections. It's not just a question of money. It's also the Old Money Vs. New Money deal. Interesting. Josh
