Sorry to hear that you're having trouble and I can empathize with you on the woman thing. My wife had the same trouble with her Jetta until I went in and laid it all out for the service manager.
Here is what I'd suggest:
Be very careful to identify precisely you were doing when your car makes the unacceptable sound. Back up and reproduce it...and again until you know exactly what action causes it. For example, you will need to be able to state that "every time I slow from ~15mph and cross a speed bump or pothole while using the brakes, I hear a creaking noise"
You'll almost need to compile a mini-journal. Then you need to call the service manager and set up an appointment directly with him/her. Not the joker known as "service counselor". I mean the counselor's boss.
Review the items on your list with him, presenting facts. While you're in with him, you might need to offer some sort of challenge. My favorite one is: "Sir, tell you what. Ride with me in my car and then lets ride in a new one. If you don't notice a big difference, I'll never complain about it again" (this is why you gotta be sure) Here's the key. When the manager drives your car or has someone else do it, INSIST that you go along so you can point out the trouble. Don't let them evaluate the vehicle and "find nothing wrong".
On a side note, the transmission is the same between vehicles. *(somebody verify this for me please)* You can expect some variation because the units may be adjusted differently for the HOT engine but not sloppy shifting. If its bad enough and they won't do anything for you, go to a non-dealer specialist and maybe pay him for a third-party opinion before calling your lawyer.
Last point...DO NOT trade your car in to the same dealer *unless* he gives you almost what you paid in credit. If he tries to offer you "market value" for your trade-in, absolutely refuse.
Good Luck
