Hi All:

My wife has a '99 9-3S 5dr 5spd, and I just got my '01 9-3SE 5dr 5spd last week. While the SE power is noticable to me, it is not a huge difference. As for the way the cars drive, mine is a little stiffer due to the sport suspension, but again, her car is fun as heck too drive too. So as for the difference you are experiencing, my opinion is that it should not be THAT different. With that said, make the dealer check what you want when you want it. You are the customer! If they give you a hard time tell them you will call SAAB North America. Then do it. I hate bad service and will not stand for it. Male or Female, it doesnt matter when you start yelling loud enough at the right people.

As for getting a new one, I don't know where you are located, but I bought (leased) both our SAAB's from Mark Gray at Suncoast SAAB in Ft. Myers Florida. I am about 2 hours north in Tampa. Our first car, Mark got for me from a dealer in Texas. My SE, he found inbound on the ship, contacted the dealer it was designated for in chicago, and had the car re-routed to him, for prep and delivery to me. I know he has spoken to at least one person from this board that, who was in Cincinnati. I don't know Mark other than having bought two cars from him, never even met him. But he's great on the phone and will work to get you a very good deal and find the car you want.

Good luck and don't put up with any crap from the local dealer. Just keep going up the chain and making a fuss if necessary. Let us knw how it goes. By the way, I will be posting a complete review of my new SE today or tomorrow, so you might find something interesting.

Go SAAB,

Steven
