Wish list for next 9-3

Like many people here, I'd like to see the next 9-3 have an improved platform; 4-wheel drive, at least as an option; and improvements in a few other areas. Personally, I'd like to see a cabin that is a bit roomier, including more room in the driver's footwell.
Another change that I think is necessary is the use of a larger engine across the board, at least for the US. Yes, the 2.0 liter engine makes good power, and has a lot of mid-range torque. However, the low end/off boost torque is inadequate, in my opinion. At approx. 3,100 pounds, the car is just too heavy for a 2 liter motor.
The 2.3 would be perfect. I imagine mileage would suffer a bit, but the trade-off would be more than worth it and would make Saabs, even with an auto. transmission, more competitive with cars offering 6 cyl. engines. Isn't the goal to sell Saabs to a wider audience?
Of course, the 2.3 could be offered in various states of tune. I would suggest 200 hp for the 9-3 S.
Do any of you "insiders" know of Saab's engine plans for the next 9-3?
