That was my thought also, but service manager told me the outside air is being pulled in via a vent near base of windshield, that air is heated passing over the hood. It's definitely disconcerting. I don't recall such a problem with my '83 900 turbo, which had a fresh air intake on the surface of the hood.
If you're able to resolve this issue, please let me know.
