Air knob on 99 9-3

I know that the knob on the dash that controls the distribution of the air in the car is a little bit week on my 99 9-3, but I have a question.
I have had the quick fix some months ago and that lasted a while until it went again. Eventually managed to get Saab to fix it for free and it does work now, but it doesn't sit in the straight upright position. When I try and get all the air to the windscreen there is still a little air coming out by my feet.
Has anyone else had this problem with the proper fix? Not only is it really annoying, but I'm worried that it might put off a potential buyer when I come to upgrade to a 9-3SS.
Any advice?
