Personal aroma therapy sessions aside, the facts of SAAB's recommendation as being changed and molded by your own opinions and personal desires to others.

Once again, here is the word from SAAB Cars USA.

Per SAAB USA bulletin dated 12/2/2002 to ALL of its USA dealers.

RECOMMENDED OIL GRADES FOR 2003 MODEL SAABS:

All 2003 SAAB models will come with an underhood label indicating "Recommended oils/Use Saab Genuine Oil/Mobil 1".
It is IMPORTANT that the different requirements for each model is understood.

Year 2003 9-3 SS:

"REQUIRES FULL SYNTHETIC OIL WHICH MEETS GM-LL-A-025 SPECIFICATION"
AND FURTHER CONTINUES WITH
"THE ONLY TWO OILS THAT ARE READILY AVAILABLE THAT MEET THIS SPECIFICATION ARE MOBIL 1 0W-40 SUPER SYN, AND SAAB 0W-30 TURBO LONG LIFE SYNTHETIC OIL."

P/n given as 12 799 131 which is 4 litre SAAB Turbo long-life FULL SYNTHETIC OIL 0W-30.



Year 2003 ALL 9-5 , and 9-3 convertibles:

"REQUIRES SEMI-SYNTHETIC OIL WHICH MEETS ACEA A3/B3, API SJ SPECIFICATION OR HIGHER"

AND CONTINUES WITH:

"FOR 2003, THE 9-5 AND 9-3 CONVERTIBLE REQUIREMENTS REMAIN THE SAME AS FOR 2002. OIL CHANGES ARE REQUIRED EVERY 10,000 MILES UNDER NORMAL DRIVING CONDITIONS. OIL REQUIREMENTS REMAIN THE SAME AT EITHER SEMI-SYNTHETIC OR FULL SYNTHETIC."

P/n given as 02 86 617 which is a 4 litre SAAB Semi Synthetic 5W-30.


PLEASE COPY AND PASTE THIS INTO YOUR COMPUTER'S "MY DOCUMENTS". I'M GETTING TIRED OF REPOSTING THIS EVERY 2 WEEKS.
