Every once in a while I drive my '72 F250 with four wheel drums. Driving something like this reminds you of the concept of paying attention and anticipating braking situations. Everyone used to have to learn those skills, since it takes this truck more space to brake on dry pavement than it does a modern car on ice. Driving it also reminds you that sometimes you have to wedge a matchbook in with an 8-track tape to keep the player from skipping.
