My experience with these matters is that my dealer's service department rather have me do their legwork than have their tech's call SAAB, particularly when it involves warranty work with a standard time charge.
When I had the door locks set to unlock automatically, the dealer claimed that "the new software didn't allow for this", claimed they struggled for over an hour (without pay) and refused to call SAAB USA. I looked on this bulletin board, found the answer, printed it out, gave it to them and they fixed the Tech II system.
Why I had to do this, I don't know. That's what makes this board so valuable to me. Thanks to all of you.
