What positively identifies a Viggen? Posted by MI-Roger [Email] (#882) [Profile/Gallery] (more from MI-Roger) on Sun, 11 Aug 2013 16:05:03 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
There is a 2000 Viggen convertible advertised on the local CraigsList with low to reasonable miles for its age. The car has the Viggen fender badges but I know that a few Saab specialist parts houses were selling these loose for years. Since the car is nearly 14 years old, and the current owner may be the third or fourth (and therefore a possible victim of false badging fraud himself), what will possitively identify the car as a Viggen?
My WIS does not cover the OG 9-3 family but my EPC makes it appear the Viggen may have a letter R in the VIN to identify the HPT engine. Is this true? If so, which position in the VIN?
Oh, the car DOES NOT wear the notoriously soft 17-inch 5-spoke wheels fitted to Viggens at the factory. In fact, it may be shod with 16-inch wheels from a 9-5.
Thanks,
