I offered, he countered, decision time.

There are a few items about it that may be nothing or may be indicative of future issues. The side cover on the throttle body which is removed to clear 'limp home' is missing. The engine cover has the wrong 'turbo' plate. The brake & clutch reservoir is filled to the brim with fluid the color of Guiness Stout. The antifreeze is a weird color of green, not blue enough to be Saab and not yellow enough to be the old fashioned standard either. No PCV 6 upgrade installed.

I am hesitant to increase my offer when I may need to buy a throttle body or other expensive part soon.

Lots of good things about this car but some worrisome things that may indicate the second owner (and third too) did not exercise prudent maintenance practices.
