The clutch is easier to use with the new cable and clutch kit. My old clutch facing is in good shape. As I expected, it would have gone to 250000 miles easy. No wear on the spring fingers from the throw out bearing either. I have all of the parts and will be studying them further.

Flywheel was not machined.

The transmission was pulled without lowering the engine. The Hanynes manual is totally bogus!! When they replaced the $16.00 engine rear seal, there was no oil loss, so they did not use any of the 4 quarts of Mobil One which I left in the vehicle. (Got that oil because I read the Hanyes manual.)

I have not noticed any difference with shifting with the Saab synthetic gear oil. That will come in time. The steering is very precise, and the rubbery reactions and nausia seems to be fixed!. I did some heavy acceleration in 1st gear, and did not pick up any torque/bump steer. The steering response is quick, and seems very precise. I could not do much with the vehicle as I was proceeding down State Line Road, aka Radar death zone.

So these impressions are from one trip from the dealer back to my desk. I am sure that there is much more to discover. And then there is the rack brace to install, perhaps this weekend.

Speaking of installing. While in Canada, I picked up 4 axle stands. These cost $39.86 US for the four after exhange, inclusive of 15% sales tax. What a deal!, and they do not have the jaws of death cast steel tops that look like pipe wrenches. These stands will be happy supporting wood blocks, that will not damage the sheet metal at the jacking points. ($13.00 CDN each at Canadian Tire).
