Until August, I was posted in Vienna, Austria. SAABs would have a decent resale value, were you to find a buyer. The main problem is that most Austrians and Germans prefer German-built cars.
If you are in a position to buy something duty free and then sell it at the end of your posting, a best bet would be a BMW, Merc, or Audi. The resale value would be high and there are no shortage of buyers.
If you want to take your 900, be aware that you may have to convert the headlights - around 300 dollars. I have some Euro headlights you can buy for cheaper if you are ever in Ottawa :))
Service is also a big, big headache in Deutschland... whereas any backyard mechanic has the equipment to work on German cars, few will touch a SAAB.
I love my SAAB and thoroughly enjoyed having it in Europe, but I had really hoped to be able to sell it before I left. I am not that sad about it, however, because I enjoy having it here as well!
