My 2.3l 'uses' approximately 1 litre of oil (previously dino, now synthetic) per 1,500 kilometers. No outward symptoms, no dribbles anywhere, no blue smoke out the tail pipe, no oil in the coolant, basically the car just 'uses' oil. This started last year at 70,000 (+/-) kilometers and the car has 116,000 kilometers on it now. Car runs beautifully and I get great gas mileage (it averaged 35.9/gal CDN or 29.9/gal US over 43,000 kilometers)! Any suggestions? Is there some recirculation setup that may not be working correctly? Right now I just add 1 litre 3 times between changes!
