As you know from BMWs, alloy rims can be bent. So do not assume that any vibration at 50 to 60 mph is just a need for a simple wheel balance.
Confirm operation of all 5 wipers and spray nozzles. Check for all lamps working, especially the fog lamps which are pain to get into. Only one rear lamp will come on for the rear gog lamp.
Check electrically adjusting seats for operation. Check the seat heaters for the front seats.
Check power windows and locks. Check that the keyless entry works for both keys. You need two keys and transmitters! Where is the owners manual? Where is the blue card that lists the radio anti theft code?
Check that the power antenna works properly.
Check the climate control operation for heat and cooling. Watch for moisture in the passenger side carpet... indicating a leak in the evap box.
Boost in third gear should get to the start of the red on the boost indicator. If is goes higher and runs well, you may have a modified ECU. This is good!
In mid '97 production some running production changes were make. Check to see if you have a hydraulic clutch... which is good!. If the older cable style, it should not feel stiff at the petal.
Look under the front of the vehicle. If you see oil at the bottom of the bell housing the problem is a leaky engine rear seal, or a leaking input shaft on a manual trany. Get the oil on your fin
