1995 SET Continental CH95 all-season tires. Agreed, I need snowtires. This claim is made relative to my old Subaru loyale wagon. The subaru did not have anti-locks or all wheel drive, but it did have 4WD. Put it in 4WD and the car would go anyway and stop anywhere. The subaru's 4WD totally helped braking as well as the handling and excellerating. The car was totally amazing. As to the SAAB, I think I would be able to stop it better without anti-locks than with. I've since driven my mother's new Subaru outback and think that the old-school 4WD is preferable to the AWD...this may not be when you are really stuck. I don't see why people are impressed with Saab in the snow. They are too low to the ground to boot. A SAAB would totally suck in Crested Butte, CO where the subaru rocked.
