I took my car to a semi-local station approved to work on Saabs for it's normal servicing (where I live, it's been VERY difficult to find anyone willing to work on a Saab). I was told I should get the fuel injection system cleaned and that I needed to replace a seal within the front axel. I did both of these in addition to having the AC "repaired". A week later, my AC wasn't working at all (which I know must be due to a leak, but...), and my car just died 45 minutes from home mid-U-turn and wouldn't restart. I had it towed all the way back to the guys who'd worked on it to have them tell me my central computer (ECU) needed to be replaced. I ordered a used part from a place specializing in used Saab and Volvo parts and had it installed. The mechanic said he established communication with the computer, but the car still won't start, and he thinks the coil pack may have burnt out as well...does it sound like these problems make sense? If so, does it make more sense to replace the coil pack as well (which will bump what I've spent on the car within the past month to around $1,500) or give up on it and trade it in? I've had awful experiences with mechanics in the past who have overcharged me, done a half-assed job, and/or recommended unneccessary services, and I am worried that I am in the midst of another such situation. If anyone could reply with advice, I would be more than grateful. Thank you so much!
