If you're convinced that OEM springs won't work for you Posted by Bill Homer [Email] (#3427) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Bill Homer) on Sat, 15 Oct 2005 11:42:31 In Reply to: Re: Can't cover every contingency, steve, Fri, 14 Oct 2005 19:50:57 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
then you may just want to bite the bullet and put in some heavier or load leveling parts - and not necessarily using the overpriced service offered at your dealer (my local dealer now charges ~$125/hour). You can try to argue with SAAB, but I predict a lot of frustration in trying for something other than stock replacement parts - heck, it's usually frustrating enough arguing with the manufacturers for normal things. For a few hundred extra, you can put in the parts that you want, possibly get longer tire life, and above all possibly have a safer vehicle - this is priceless, just read a few stories on rear tire blowouts on Ford Explorers. OK, the centers of gravity are different, but having experienced a rear blowout, you have an idea of what can happen at high speed.
I'm particularly interested as I have my eye on a 9-5 wagon as my next car, will be curious what you wind up putting in your car.
