The dealer has returned my call, but so far, it's just been
phone tag.
Thanks for all the great responses, both pro and con, it's given me
a lot to think about.
I'm a first time SAAB owner and really enjoy the car, it drives and
handles like no other and the acceleration is very impressive.
Just to clarify a few points, I went to the dealer knowing only that
I wanted to get the 40k checkup and also have them take care of the
following minor problems...
1. the 2 rear windows were only going down halfway and were
extremely wobbly and unstable in their tracks.
2. the left rear door handle was sticking.
3. the driver seat belt was twisted.
4. the left rear door had some rattling.
Everything was fixed to my satisfaction and the 40K inspection
was performed, all under warranty, free of charge.
I did ask about the Ignition box recall, but they said it was not
available for my car yet, even though I had received a preliminary
letter about the recall from SAAB.
(2 weeks later, they called to ask if I would pay $130.)
