In Victoria, the Australian state around Melbourne, the speed cops are fierce. Max speed in the freeways is 100kph and only occasionally 110kph. Cops use unmarked cars and photo radar and are merciless with not even a 6kph threshold if they feel like it and they often do.
The roads are long, straight, flat and boring and staying alert is a problem. To combat this there's a sign every 5km announcing the need for a "powernap" if you feel not too alert and the net effect of the signs make you even more tired than you woulda' been without the signs.
