and they, too, refused to accept a payment which they thought was not the correct amount. Mortgage companies are required by law in almost all states to never refuse payment. Some of them employ people who get their jollies trying to make life difficult for people like you who do not fit their norm. Don't just threaten. Make notes of who you speak with, which days, what was said, etc. and send it to the state banking commission where you live. Let the mortgage company know you are doing so. Protect your credit from jerks like this. It took me two years to get my case straightened out, but diligent notes & involving a government agency was more than the mortgage company could argue with.
