I'm not the one who brought up the topic to praise bailouts. I'm not the one who tried to praise Keynesianism without knowing what it actually is.
Visions of heroic government wisemen turning the tides of market irrationality may sound good to the unsophisticated, but such a vision still have two insurmountable obstacles:
1. Where to find such wisemen? when thousands of years of human history has proven their absence;
2. Why do such wisemen need the backing of the government guns at all? Well timed counter-cylical trades are profitable and therefore no need for government backing.
We have well over a thousands years of human history proving that government intervention in the market place to counter economic cycles is an unrealistic fantasy that only breeds corruption and abuse whenever tried, just like the fantasy about government wisemen taking over food production to feed all: the result is mass famine. It takes the active participation of all in the society, on an individually responsible basis, to optimize resource allocation . . . because each person has intimate knowledge of his/her conditions that are far more complex than a central planner can be made aware of. Offers of free ride is usually a con game, and in Hayek's words, road to serfdom.
