I use my debit card much like the pre-paid card. The account is kept under 500 and its sole purpose is to buy food and small items. I'm sure the amount in the account being less than what the theifs were trying to take sent up a bunch of red flags for the bank. The card is never used for credit purchase over maybe 80$ for gas at the pump,.. This has me thinking about calling the bank Monday and putting a 80$ credit cap on the card. Wonder if they can do that it would be perfect.
Being I used that debit account like its going out of style I'm only 60% positive the card was captured at the gas station, I could of stopped for coffee or something and forgot about it. Kind a scary to think the pin pad in the store is being used in conjunction with a card capturer, but I suppose smart phones now days all one needs to do is down load an app and shebang the phones now saving cards.
The card I'm using now is never used for mundane purchases and this recent transaction with the frozen pin pad is its only purchase with it. Ill pull some cash out of an ATM and use it till I can get home to get my new debit card and wait and watch to see if this card gets taken. Ill call the banks and credit cap both of them. I searched the Internet for anything about the pin pad being the card capture and not one word is written about it perhaps this is new out on the streets.
