Spent a year in Australia driving on the right side. It was actually fairly easy. You get used to the shifter very quickly. And remeber not only is the shifter still in the center, but the shift pattern is unchanged. So you are using the wrong hand and the shift pattern seems reversed. I agree the windshield wiper/turn signal stalks take the most getting used to. I often had the wipers going when I meant to turn and vice versa.
A funny incident:
A day or two after we arrived, my wife and I took a drive to a local store. After shopping we get in the car and I pull out onto a empty side street and drive up to the main street intersection. We are sitting at the light waiting for it to turn green, when my wife asks if we are on a one way street. I answer "No, why?". She points out that we are on the wrong side of the road, and are pointing head-on at the on-coming traffic about to cross the intersection. Needless to say I quickly backed-up and changed lanes. I am sure the Aussies that were staring at us from across the intersection were quite amused.
