It seems that since SAAB is still alive (ie, GM hasn't killed the SAAB brand, yet) SAAB has its own heritage. Also, if you read the press release, you'll see that they imply that the 2-Stroke engine's of the 60's were GM engines, and that the Rally Races were won by GM. They weren't!!! They were won by SAAB. GM didn't make 2 digit SAABs, SAAB did. Nobody other than SAAB can say that. I understand that SAAB *IS NOW* owned fully by GM.
You can buy a stake in a company, you can even buy that company, but you can't buy their heritage.
What SAAB did in the 50's,60's,70's,and 80's is what SAAB did, not GM.
In press releases, they should refer to accomplishments by SAAB as part of the SAAB heritage, not GM. GM should leave the SAAB heritage as SAAB heritage, and should pay it it's due respect.
