And I feel that GM has helped SAAB in general, I am not one of those anti-GM guys.
Its one thing to honor the past, but to change it to glorify yourself is wrong. Maybe GM's intentions were good, and I hope it was an honest mistake. BUT, if GM knowingly and intentionally took credit for SAABs past achievements, that is wrong and it cancels out any of the good intentions that GM may have had. Its one thing to honor the past, another to bastardize it.
For example, say George Steinbrenner, owner of the Yankees honors the Yankees glorious past by erecting monuments, or having ceremonies to honor the great Yankees. Nothing wrong with that. However, imagine now that Steinbrenner claims credit for aquiring players such as Ruth, DiMaggio, Gehrig, Mantle, etc. Is that right?
Same thing with the NY Islanders. We have new owners who have shown they are committed to bringing the good times back to the Island. (Can be thought of as GM comming in and saving SAAB) They speak of a return to the glory of the dynasty years of the Islanders and they have a respect for was was accomplished during those years. However, Imagine that they took credit for that Stanley Cup dynasty.
