Hey Bill:
Thanks for the information and advice. Since I bought the car outright (in Sweden) for export to the US in 1995, and it has a great service record and ca. 30K miles, I would rather keep than replace and lose my investment. Buying a new/used car in Norway would be a more prohibitive option due to luxury tax -- I supposedly can bring my own vehicle in without this duty as a resident US citizen. Please correct me if you know I'm wrong!
I bought the 9000 in the first place since I was moving back to the US from Sweden, and bringing along my beloved 5-door red 1993 900 (last one purchased in the greater Stockholm area!) would have cost ca. $5000 to match US standards on emissions, lights, and bumpers. APPARENTLY, US standard is more stringent than Norwegian in the emissions and bumper areas, and I would be grateful to hear otherwise from anyone who knows better.
Thanks again --
Victor.
