The region I was implying was Europe, not China. Tobacco usage and bombing has to do with health standards, human rights ethics and pollution - which the EU claims to be on the moral high ground.
"For that matter, what has ozone got to do with climate change?" Uhh, I would think you'd know better than that, but keep doing your research as changes in the ozone are a cause of global warming and atmospheric changes, though minor, and has been the topic of global warming scientists for years.
The article you referred to correlelated the Bush administration with having "Environmental tax reform could move US energy policy forward while limiting political fallout from the decision to reject the Kyoto Protocol". Many disagree with Bush's decision not to support Kyoto and blame him for the ozone changes. Why else is there "political fallout"?
You did go a bit far in assuming you understood my point of view. In fact, you're way off base. My heritage is European, and I've lived in several European countries over the years. All of which had beautiful scenery and kind people. I wish no ill will against them as many have suffered enough and others struggle today.
Your other comments are definately not in accordance with my train of thought, though you covered so many topics in one heading it what take a journal to properly address them. "Canadians and Norwegians can do it; Russians and Brits too but not us Americans. We don't do windows." Who are you kidding. You've obviously never been to a U.S. memorial field in Europe, Asia or Africa.
My point, again, is that the U.S. has the right, as do other nations, to say no when a treaty or policy is not in the best interest of that country. The Kyoto treaty, as you seem to agree, was not in the U.S. best interest, yet the U.S. was tainted as enviornmentally hostile. Finger pointing is usually done by the guilty.
Perhaps, John A, we're on the same page. I'm just not sure what book your from.
At the very least we both enjoy our Saabs... right?
