Volvo has just announced a new 3-series sized sport-wagon called the V50 to be released mid 2003 with sedan and coupe versions to be out by spring 2004. So what, you say? Well in the last three years we have seen the totally new S80, S60, V70 from Volvo and Saab has introduced the 9-5 and a revised 900 called the 9-3. So what you say again? My question is this, why the heck is it taking so long for the new 9-3 to hit the headlines? Has Saab made a boo-boo and sent the car back for further development or a re-design? Saab has a problem at the moment as too few cars are being sold and the brand has absolutely no exposure on the market. I have read elsewhere on this site that VW has taken the "Turbo" name for itself which is probably the biggest mistake Saab marketing ever made not promoting the
Saab Turbo so I have to ask myself what does Saab stand for? (If anyone says Svenska Aeroplan Akteibolaget, Ill kill them! ;) I mean, I LOVE Saab cars and there is no car like it on earth but Saab has to convince those people who wouldnt normally -thru pure insanity- consider a Saab? All I can say is that the 2003 9-3 has been in development for such a long time that it has to be at least as good as the new A4 or 3-series, if not - I think you can see where I am headed with this!
