This thread started with cleaner paint by Saab and ended up
a Canada/international institutions-bash and an ideological
academic rant for 'market-based solutions'.
As I was saying at the beginning, the
Scandinavian countries (among which Sweden, the most
heavily foreign-invested country in the world) appear to
be cleaner. I suppose if the market we the be-all and end-
all, Sweden's taxes would be prohibitive and pure capitalism
(as per Russia) could not live in such a system as Sweden
or Canada for that matter.
If there was such a thing as pure capitalism, US airlines
would not be bailed out and the US agriculture industry and
energy industry would not be as heavily subsidized as they are.
BTW; we won the prize because we are generally healthier; our
kids are smarter and fitter; we have less crime and so on, not
because we have a socialist health care system which outranks yours
but falls short of Cuba, France, Spain, Portugal and Italy.
When is Mr Cheney set to release the information congress wants?
Do you think Mr Bush's climate plan will get past Jim Jeffers?
