I dont care if it saves them time and money by going faster, they should not be going faster than 60mph. It is too dangerous, these trucks were not designed to go that fast and still be the slightest bit manueverable in an emergency situation.
Furthermore, a large number of cars on the road today actually have dangerously bad response at high speeds. I'm talking about these huge pickups trucks with V10 engines and stuff. Try swerving to miss a deer at 75mph and the suspension is too soft to give the right amount of feel to an ordinary driver of how to get the car back in control.
I drive around 80mph routinely, but I'm not suggesting that other people drive that fast ALL THE TIME. The reason the speed limit is not that high in places where it "could" be is that one's chances of surviving a crash at those speeds are significantly less than a car traveling at 60mph.
