Like ryan said, the only option is to raise the top-end. Unfortunately, thats precisely what the 2.3 liter doesn't like to do. Its just the nature of a long stroke engine. Not to say you can't raise the redline, and flatten out the top of the torque curve, but you get a lot less for your money going in that direction with these engines.
