Hello again,
I downloaded the t5 suite, and a bin file of a stock 94 aero, and I looked up the normal ignition map...
i tried to upload a screenshot onto flickr so you guys can see it.
I understand it's showing the total timing as a relationship between RPM and the MAP sensor value...
well the SDS ECU has you enter data a little differently, and my question is, does anyone have any advice on the best way to do it
the sds ecu would technically operate without a map sensor if you wanted it to...
so it has a BASE timing table, which starts at 500rpm and goes up to 8000rpm in 250rpm increments...
you set these values first, then you set the MAP sensor + or - values for each pressure cell, between -31 and +30 or something like that.
So... the Base timing +/- the Map sensor adjustment will equal TOTAL TIMING
we're going to run at base boost for a while in order to set the timing safely, so around 6-9 psi...
so, i was thinking, enter base timing of 10 degrees at lower rpms with no retard from the map sensor, and slightly higher for mid but have more retard for the map sensor value, and then go back closer to ten for base timing at higher rpms but have LESS retard, to allow the timing to advance a little...
does this method sound good to anyone?
comments? concerns? :)
thanks
-gavin
